I believe every season has its favorite flower color. And the closer we
get to fall, the more yellow flowers seem to pop up everywhere. Starting
around midsummer, yellow becomes one of the dominant colors in the
gardens. Or maybe I'm simply imagining it... Maybe it's just my eyes
becoming more sensitive to yellow.
Probably not. ;) White and purple flowers certainly captured my attention too.
Still, orange and yellow have always been associated with fall in my
mind, and I keep looking for those bright sparks of color whenever I
wander through the Denver Botanic Garden.
One of the things I really enjoy about visiting the gardens week after week is watching the changes.
They disappear.
And then something else takes their place.
There were plenty of lilies in July, but now you can hardly find any.
Salvias have taken over, gradually changing the color of the garden from warm orange-ish tones to cooler lavender and purple. And you know what? I like it too. ;)
There are always other flowers joining the show - white, blue, purple...
...and, of course, yellow. Yellow never really disappears.
It simply finds another place to bloom.
But you know what? It doesn't really matter. The color isn't important. The beauty is. :)
And flowers are some of the most beautiful creatures surrounding us, aren't they?
Oh, and then there was this bold red! There was no way to walk past
without noticing it. Some flowers quietly blend into the scenery. Others
demand your attention. Like this one.
Well, it was another nice walk through the gardens. And, as usual, it
wasn't only the flowers that captured my attention. Just look at this
stem! Curvy, huh? ;)
