About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Cruzin' Havana Car Show 2013

Once a year the parking lots along Havana St look a little bit different. If usually you can see the ordinary cars here, one night in June you can find the nicest cars from any time - tuned modern sport coupes, cosmic designed mid-twenty century dreadnoughts, bright hot-rods and, surely, hundred year old Fords...

1-to-2... White version ;)

One color, two flowers. White color (white suits everything right?) is just amazing. It looks so simple and easy until you move your eye closer and see all dozens of shades and textures of the whites... But... this iris is not what I wanted to show today, it is an exception from today's post ;)

Blue-puple-ish...

Let's do one color show. Blue-ish and purple-ish actually. So not exactly one color but one tint. Why these colors? I don't know... Without a good reason, just like them, is it enough?

St Mary's Glacier hike

What would happen if you woke up early in the morning (and I mean it... like 5am early), threw a couple of eggs on the pan, got a cup of coffee and drove towards the mountains? I tell you what happens if you do that - you have a chance to be first to see something breathtakingly nice ;)

Just a couple more shots...

Yea, just wanted to add a couple more shots I took during yesterday's hike. Walker Ranch Loop hike was amazing and I took a lot of pictures. So here are some of them I didn't add to yesterday's post. Mostly macro and close ups of the flowers.

Walker Ranch hike

The forecast promised a hot Saturday with possible thunderstorms. But still well heated most of the day so the hike looked like a good idea... Especially hiking early in the morning, when the air is still cool and the sun is not as strong as after midday.

Snow (not in June ;) ).

With temperatures in Denver jumping well above 90 degrees almost every day we are all thinking about cool days and even missing snow... Yeah, we cannot order the snowfall in the middle of the summer, but we can look at the pictures and feel the cool air blowing in the room.

Rose's day or day of roses?

You pick the title... And I will not say a word because it is pointless to talk about such beauties, isn't it?

Sunday in Boulder

Boulder is the best place to escape from the crowd and noise of Denver. Going there is always a pleasure, it doesn't matter if it's a cold and windy Fall day or hot and sunny Summer one. Boulder in May is a special treat...

Skyscrapers or Denver we don't always like

Some people like small and friendly towns and some like big and busy cities. And Denver is the place to satisfy all of them. If you like Chicago and New York - stay in downtown and don't leave unless you need to. If you enjoy small and quiet towns - avoid going downtown and stay in residential areas.

Snowflake plus snowflake... finally we can make a snow sculpture, can't we?

There are a lot of small resort towns that can be found somewhere in the Rockies. Mostly they attract the skiers but not only. It is fun to explore these mountain gems. But today let's talk about just one of them... Breckenridge... There is a lot of sun and nice slopes, which are really good for skiing. But it is not enough to make the town prosperous and blooming. What else? Infrastructure... hotels, restaurants, small stores... and all of these are easy to find in Breckenridge ;)
Just a couple of hours of driving and you find yourself at an elevation of 9600 feet on the hills of great slopes. The town of Breckenridge was incorporated in 1859 and there were only 51 people living there. In 2000 there lived 2408 people (twice as much as just 10 years before). But these are only permanent residents and the population is doubled or tripled during the winter months when the skiers from all around the country are visiting.
What attracts people here besides skiing? Everything! Fresh air and amazing views to the 14ers from even Main street among it ;)

June. First summer hike...

Early June is a great time for hiking. The weather is not too toasty and colorful flowers are everywhere. So - let's wake up in the morning and drive up to the mountains (somewhere in the range of one hour driving) and walk around...

Midsummer flowers

Summer is coming... The foliage is green and lush, the sky is blue and the flowers are blooming already. But we also not only had some snow just a few days ago and some rains... The temperature is still relatively comfortable most of the days. We shouldn't complain about hot weather...yet... But let's just jump back in time and walk along the streets and feel real midsummer heat...
