January is the month when no one expects to see many flowers...
Well, if you live in Australia, that's a different story... Hawaii is
another exception too... but generally, we know that January is not the
time for flowers... And even more so, no one expects to see exotic
flowers, at least not outdoors... but indoors, things are different
indoors, aren't they?
The orchid exhibition held by the Denver Botanic Gardens every
January is a time when you can see dozens of blooming orchids within
arm's reach...
And the flowers are simply magnificent... All sorts of colors and
shapes... of course, they are all orchids, but they are so different...
Each flower is unique and displays a unique pattern on its petals.
You stop to admire one, and when you move on to the next, you initially
think it's the same... but if you look closely, you realize that they
are very similar... but not identical...
Time stops when you walk around and admire these beautiful... beautiful creatures.
You can spend 5 minutes or 5 hours strolling through the gallery
where the orchids are displayed... and when you step outside, you won't
believe that it's 30 degrees and everything is covered in snow (not this
January though ;( ).
...so you breathe in the cold winter air and... immediately go back
inside to spend another 5 minutes in the company of beautiful and
vibrant orchids ;)
The only thing that made me feel sad was that there are far fewer
varieties this year compared to last year... Click here to see how many
more of these colorful flowers we could see last January - Summer in Winter.
