And then there were the prairie dogs ;) There was simply a countless number of these quick, clever rodents - they were everywhere! :)
About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Water, trees, birds... animals too ;)
That morning, a week ago, turned out to be cold and cloudy. An
interesting combination for late April... But by 9am the clouds had
parted and blue sky lured me to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife
Refuge, where I hoped to find something interesting...
Well, unlike a couple weeks prior, when everything stood leafless and
blanketed with light snow (click here to refresh your memory - From flowers to wilderness),
everything looked completely different that day. Everything was lush
with fresh foliage, and... well, I didn't find any snow ;)
Instead... the place was absolutely teeming with interesting things -
birds, the glassy blue surface of the water, and the boundless sky
(albeit dotted with plenty of clouds)...
It is hard to be there without spotting some bison ;) This time there
were only a few and not very close, but nevertheless it was nice to
encounter them.
To be honest, I don't have any good story to tell about this visit. I
simply drove along the Wildlife Drive and hiked around the lake... saw a
couple of buffalo, some red-winged blackbirds (a very common bird
there), and a lot of prairie dogs. No burrowing owls or raptors to see
up close ;( Well, I have nothing to complain about, it was a wonderful
couple of hours spent away from my desk and surrounded by nature. I am
eagerly looking forward to the chance of doing it again!
