About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Poppy day

Sorry to all dog lovers out there... it was poppy day not puppy day! :)
Yeah... I was wandering around the Denver Botanic Garden, and my attention was mostly drawn to, no surprise, poppies...

California poppies stole the spotlight. Their subtle beauty and bright orange (mostly!) petals worked like a powerful magnet - I just couldn’t resist.

But I couldn’t pass by the Spanish poppies either. Maybe not quite as elegant, but undeniably beautiful in their simplicity.

And of course, the classic red poppies, especially those that hadn’t opened yet.

Well... I don't think words are even needed here, are they?

Now, about the lilies… Just a week ago, there were only a few in bloom. But this Saturday, more and more buds were opening, and the show was just beginning.

Horned poppies (yep, another variety) were just as attractive as the others.

And yes, this is a lily too... just a water lily.

Of course, some other flowers managed to sneak into my camera, and I couldn’t stop them :)

White beauty or prickly poppy. It's quite common on the Colorado plains and in the mountains. Such a simple, yet stunning flowers!

Am I the only one who sees a dragon here? I just not sure why it's sad...

This lily was absolutely perfect. Bright and vibrant, the kind of color that stands out without even trying.

Another Spanish Poppy... This time in yellow.

And back to California poppies again… I can only imagine what a whole field of these would look like.
