About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Golden, Grey and Beautiful...

Early in the morning, we left home and after a while reached our destination - Golden Gate Canyon Park... The colors were changing in Denver, and we hoped to find some gold nuggets in the mountains too...

Well, we obviously found some :) Even though this time the weather wasn't as bright and sunny as during the previous couple of visits to the park (check it here - Golden Gate Canyon - Golden Fall Colors), it actually made this one even more interesting.

Everything looks gorgeous when the sun shines... but also predictable beautiful, too predictable I am afraid. On the other hand, when the sky is dark and cloudy... those bright yellow leaves create an even greater contrast and really stand out!

...and this time we caught just the right moment, when some of the aspens were still a work in progress, with leaves neither summer green nor autumn yellow yet...

Just look at this cluster! Isn't it beautiful?

We crossed the meadow to join the Mule Deer Trail, and when I looked back, I saw a young moose following our path :)

But not for long. It got bored walking the trails, stepped aside and crossed the meadow not 100 feet away from where we stood and admired the gorgeous animal.

Well, the moose disappeared, and we continued on the trail, enjoying the grey sky and low clouds.

We didn't expect to see much sun on this day, actually... But to our surprise, we got a glimpse of it, along with some really blue sky. Not for long, though :)

And... honestly... I actually prefer the overcast sky and foggy mood, and we had plenty of both...

Just for a contrast... look how different the same place looks when the sun shines - Golden Gate Canyon - pure gold canyon ;).

When we were ready to turn around, the rain started. Not heavy pouring rain, but not the light and almost invisible kind either. It was a good signal to head back before it soaked us through...

The rain brought an unexpected problem - the narrow path turned muddy and slippery, with a stream of water running in the center. Well, it was fun walking this trail and trying not to slide down ;)

But as a reward, the sun returned and made the surroundings shine even brighter than before...

We hiked for about 4 miles and were ready to hit the road and return back to civilization...

...but first, we stopped at the panorama point and enjoyed the distant mountain ranges and patches of yellow aspens down below...

It was a nice day in the mountains! We experienced different weather, hiked and got soaked, had our sandwiches and admired some beautiful views... What can be a better way to spend a Tuesday off, huh?
