About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.

Between flowers and ducks ;)

The week before that Saturday, I was walking through the Denver Botanic Garden and admiring the water lilies (Water and flowers)... A week later, I was still planning to look for more of those... but I also wanted to find something different, and I wasn't disappointed, as I was greeted by a beautiful rose and several wild flowers, bright and beautiful...

But... still... the water lilies were in full bloom, and it was hard to pass by without stopping and capturing some...

Flowers or leaves... Which is more beautiful, huh? I think the leaves of the water lilies are as beautiful as the flowers, don't you think?

The Three Graces... That came to my mind as soon as I saw these three flowers ready to open their buds...

White or pink? Purple or white? Aren't they all gorgeous?

Tucked between the huge leaves, this lotus flower opened up and basked in the sun, attracting bees and other flying creatures...

There are a couple of duck families living in the garden who call the pond their home... And when they feel like taking a nap, they just settle down somewhere in the middle of the water and... doze ;)

Just to give you an idea of what kind of resting place this duck has found... Isn't it a beautiful spot?

But she didn't sleep for long... I watched her for about a minute, and then she opened her eyes and slowly climbed out of her "bed"...

She spread her wings and gracefully glided away...

I found these poppy pods right by the water... and stopped for a second to snatch a shot or two...

...and noticed a dragonfly resting on one of the pods ;)

...and more lilies around!

I walked back and forth, and when I returned to this poppy bed, I found that the dragonfly was still sitting on the same pod... Apparently, she didn't want to fly or have breakfast...

As I was leaving the garden, I passed by the second pond and I saw these ducklings dozing on the lily leaves :) Cool, right?

Brave guys, I thought, until I saw their mother, who came closer and started yelling at them, checking if everything was okay :)

It seemed like everything was fine, so she didn't fuss too much and also settled down nearby to take a nap ;) What a pleasant  encounter it was :)

Well... it was time to go. The sun was high and blazing mercilessly...

But I stayed for another ten minutes when I saw a bird pecking at flowers :) It was funny to watch it clear the stems...

And I passed by the same rose, which I started this tour with, and said goodbye to the garden. Well... not "goodbye", but "see you later", I guess.. I plan to return here soon :)
