What will you think about me if I tell you that I have a time machine? Honestly, please! But you know, I have one ;) Not exactly what you expect but it works quite well. They call it a photo camera... You can capture a cold winter day and enjoy feeling its coldness when you look at the pictures during a hot Summer day... Or... any other feelings by your choice.
Yea, I know that it happens every year. And it happens later and later in May every year. And... regardless of if this is normal for the Spring, it's still sad to see the snow covering the flowers.
Spring is a beautiful time to look at. But let's take a magnifying glass and have a close look and watch for the details we usually miss. It is a completely different world and I never tire of diving into it and finding more and more minutiae.
Hello Spring! Meaning, the trees are blossoming, the leaves are unwrapping from the buds and we all have a real Spring mood. And I guess I will not say another word and leave you in hope you have the same feeling I had while I was wandering around and taking these pictures...
What can I say... Three days in Vegas is not that much. Especially when half of this time the rain makes walking around almost impossible ;)
As you remember, we explored Bellagio and were tired. And hungry. So we decided to have some lunch. And... what can be better than lunch in Paris? Right, nothing!
Yesterday we walked along the Strip. Actually... we didn't walk... we ran and very fast :) Let's start our second day in Las Vegas and walk again... but just slowly... With some attention to the details... And let's start from Piazza San Marco in front of Venetian hotel where we were staying during our trip.
It was a nice and warm January morning when our plane landed in Nevada. That was our long planned trip to see Sin City. Yeah, this is just a nickname, but somehow I like it more than Las Vegas. Actually, this nickname doesn't reflect the truth about Las Vegas, but once given it stuck. Interestingly, today less than half of city taxes is casino money. Bigger half originated from different businesses. Also a lot of work was done to prevent illegal activities and money laundering... but still say Sin City and everyone understands what you mean ;)
Barr Lake is a special place. You can hike, bike, boat... but better go here for bird watching. More than 350 species can be found here. But... not in late March. In fact there is very little to see at this point, unless you like seeing bare tree trunks everywhere.
Just yesterday we were hiking in the Castlewood Canyon park and I told you this is a unique place to visit. But, in fact, it is even better than what we saw during this hike. Wonna to know why? Let's travel a bit and see the same place but from a different angle. And to make it even more interesting, let's travel back in time too ;) Not too much, actually, I don't invite you to see back in a million years, just a few months....
Hidden in the rolling prairie on Highway 83 near Franktown, Colorado, is Castlewood Canyon State Park. Don’t drive by too fast, or you’ll miss it. Many people don’t even know it’s there. It’s worth the drive from Denver or Colorado Springs, because this park has several unique features other local parks don’t have.
It is absolutely unbelievable, but the Fall is still here. The weather is warm and mild and the colors are still bright. We all enjoy just walking and looking around to find some bright colors here and there...
The Fall is still here... Can you believe it's November already? I cannot... The days are still warm and nice, the foliage is bright... How much longer can we enjoy watching all this beauty? It doesn't matter... The only important thing that we still can do!
It felt monochrome (meaning colorless) when I was in the mountains last weekend (you can see it here Fall in the mountains. Colorless...). But Fall in the city brings a different feeling... Also monochrome, but red ;) Really colorful and bright.
Fall in the mountains is always beautiful. When the leaves are changing their color, Fall is bright and attractive... When the leaves are gone, Fall turns into something different... And it feels like modern technologies do not really fit to capture this time. It's the time to look between old stuff and bring up old fashion cameras and black and white films. They definitely do better work to take the pictures and capture the feeling of this time of the year.
One cold winter morning we woke up and looked out of the window... And everything around was white and puffy. It was a winter morning after all ;) And we thought it was a good time to explore some places. We decided to go to Red Rocks Amphitheater to see if the snow could discolor all the brightness of the Morrison Formation red rocks...
It is always hot in June when the Cruzin' Havana Street car show happens every year. I have no idea why, but it never happens when it's cooler. Only when the asphalt is melting and the sun burns everything and everyone...
We all know May in Colorado is time for green leaves and bright flowers... But... sometimes you wake up in the night and find the temperature dropping down and the snow falling from the sky...
