Colorful...

Another Saturday and another stop at the Denver Botanic Garden. Last week the first blooms were just starting to come out (click here - The first blooms... ). And just a week later everything looked so different... More flowers and more colors, and the first tulips were open and basking in the spring sun...

 

Surprisingly, some of the flowers were already looking wilted and dying. It took less than a week for this rhododendron to go through all stages of blooming... It was fast...

Actually, it wasn't an end just yet, it was just time for the leaves to replace the flowers...

 

The tulips were gorgeous. White, yellow and red... they looked absolutely stunning. But it wasn't time to admire them yet... we need another week before the colorful tapestry will carpet all flower beds and create this special spring feeling.

 

There were only a few crocuses, but they looked fresh, bright and very attractive ;)

Then I moved to another part of the garden, where Pasque flowers held me captive for a long time...

I always liked these simple and intricate flowers, but that Saturday they were especially beautiful.

Here and there I passed mini-irises... Simple, bright and quite attractive :)

This cluster of Pasque flowers was covered with drops of water, and the flowers look completely different...

Blooming cherry plum is a special treat. Usually all the fruit trees begin to bloom at the same time, turning the city into one huge orchard overnight... This year, apple, cherry and crabapple trees slowly and in tiers open their buds. That Saturday in the whole garden there was only one tree blooming. Very unusual!

I made a circle and passed the tulips again. And... again I couldn’t just pass by without stopping and admiring their simple beauty.

I slowly moved toward the exit, stopping here and there to take a photo or two...
