Golden Gate Canyon - Golden Fall Colors

The Fall this year is long and bright. No complaints... We like going outside and checking for yellow and red leaves. This time we chose Golden Gate Canyon Park and started from Panorama Point.

One can see for a miles from this point and I could stay there for hours just looking at the mountains peaks... some of them still clear and some already powdered with snow...

But soon we figured out the leaves were already gone there. There were very few aspens still wearing bright coat of yellow leaves, but mostly we could see only bare trunks. Interesting, because we could see multiple aspen groves on the slopes and many of them grew much higher than the Panorama Point...

We walked along the trail for a little bit and decided to drive along the road and hike somewhere else...

After not a long drive we stopped next to the big cluster of bright yellow trees and went to look around...

I think I know why this park called Golden Gate Canyon Park... Canyon - because of its location...  Gate - because it is a gate to the Rockies... Golden - because of the color of the leaves! Because the aspens here looked bright yellow, like they were made from pure gold... Beautiful!

We hiked about a mile down the trail and enjoyed rich colors of the foliage, bright sun and mild weather...

I am not sure is any comments is needed, just look at the pictures and feel the warn day in October when the aspens are in the middle of changing the colors from green to yellow. This is a very short period and I guess in a couple of days the trees are going to lose all the leaves and stay bare until Spring...

We hiked about 4 miles total in two locations and drove down the road without a stop, but still enjoying the perfect autumn day in the mountains.
