Snow in May is not that unusual for Colorado ;)

We all know May in Colorado is time for green leaves and bright flowers... But... sometimes you wake up in the night and find the temperature dropping down and the snow falling from the sky...

May 21, 2019 brought us exactly that. Snow... It started late the night before and didn't look really bad...

It didn't look any bad until the next morning, when we found a thick and heavy snow covering everything...

The snow blanketed the ground and bent the trees. Many of the branches were unable to hold the weight and moved from vertical to horizontal position and even broke...

But... you know... it looked amazingly good! Snow covered leaves and grass and everything looked like a fairy tale...  Who expected such a turn in the weather? I hadn't...

But... it was still May and snow was melting with great speed. Just a couple hours later the pavements were clear and by noon most of the snow was totally melted releasing the branches and leaves...

And the next day we had only patches of snow left and the sun was shining again... May in Colorado - you never know...

The pictures were taken on May 21, 2019.
